Online Therapy for Women, Licensed in PA, NJ & DC
Frequently Asked Questions
Here's what people usually want to know before reaching out.
Online therapy for women navigating impostor syndrome, perfectionism, and low self esteem in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.
Getting Started
-
I work with women who struggle with impostor syndrome, perfectionism, and low self-esteem, especially high-achieving women who feel like their worth is tied to what they do rather than who they are. Most of them grew up in families that taught them, one way or another, what they had to be in order to be okay. I'm licensed to provide online therapy in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Washington, D.C.

The best way to find out is a free consultation. We'll talk briefly about what's bringing you to therapy, and you'll get a feel for whether my approach fits what you need. There's no pressure to decide on the spot.
-
It's a short, low-pressure call, no script required. You'll share a bit about what's going on, I'll share how I work, and together we'll figure out if we're a good fit. If I'm not the right therapist for you, I'll do my best to point you somewhere that is.
-
No, my practice is fully online, which means no commute, more flexibility, and consistent care even when life gets busy. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.
-
No. You don't need to be in crisis, and you don't need a story that feels "bad enough." Feeling exhausted by your own expectations, or wanting to feel like yourself again, is reason enough.
Rates & Insurance
-
Yes. I'm in-network with Aetna, Highmark, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield. Most clients using insurance pay between $0 and $40 per session as a copay, though your exact rate depends on your specific plan and deductible.
-
I can provide documentation for out-of-network reimbursement, so you may still be able to recoup part of the cost through your insurance provider, even if I'm not directly in-network with them.
-
Private pay sessions are $185. This option offers the most flexibility and privacy, since it doesn't involve insurance companies or diagnostic requirements.
-
Yes. I hold a limited number of sliding-fee spots, along with a connection through the Loveland Foundation, which helps open up additional reduced-fee availability for clients who qualify.
Here's the full range, so you can see what fits:
Insurance: Copay typically $0–$40, or a special rate if you're working through a deductible
Out-of-network: Documentation provided for reimbursement through your insurance
Private Pay: $185 per session
Sliding Fee: Reduced rate for qualifying clients, including availability through the Loveland Foundation
Therapy with Me
-
That depends entirely on you, your goals, and what you're working through. Many clients meet weekly for several months to a year. We'll check in regularly on progress so it never feels open-ended or directionless.
-
Most clients start weekly, especially early on, then may shift to biweekly as things start to feel more settled.
-
It's how I describe the work I do. We look at what your family taught you that you had to be, get clear on what actually matters to you now, and build a way of living that runs on that instead of the old rule. It isn't family therapy and it isn't about repairing your relationship with them. Your family doesn't have to participate, agree, or know you're here. [Read more about generational growth therapy]

Some, but not the whole time. We go back far enough to see where a pattern started, then spend most of our time on your actual life now. This isn't years of excavation, and you won't be asked to relive anything to prove it mattered.
-
No. Sometimes distance is the right call and I'll support you in it, but that's your decision, not my recommendation. More often the work makes relationships easier to be in, because you stop needing them to be something they've never been.
-
Yes. Research consistently shows online therapy is as effective as in-person care for most concerns, including anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship patterns. For many clients, the convenience actually makes it easier to stay consistent.
-
Yes. Every session is protected under HIPAA and conducted through secure, encrypted video. The only exceptions are situations involving harm to yourself or someone else, which I'd always discuss with you directly first.
